NICEVILLE, Fla — The Florida Department of Health reports this morning the cumulative number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Okaloosa County is 421, 21 more since yesterday morning. The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Niceville and Valparaiso is 46.Statewide, the number of cases is 100,217, an increase of 2,926 since yesterday morning. After weeks of saying Florida’s increases were due to increased testing, Gov. Ron DeSantis now is saying that is not the case; it is largely due to community spread among younger adults.
In Okaloosa, the number of hospitalizations related to coronavirus in Okaloosa is 56, no change since yesterday.
The number of deaths in Okaloosa County remains unchanged at six.
