June 2 COVID-19, vaccination report for Okaloosa, Niceville

NICEVILLE, Fla — The Florida Department of Health on Wednesday reported 6 newly confirmed COVID-19 cases in Okaloosa County. There are no new cases in Niceville and Valparaiso.

The FDOH reports 209 vaccinations were administered in Okaloosa County the previous day. The cumulative number of people vaccinated in Okaloosa is 69,020. The number of people who have completed the vaccination series in Okaloosa is 57,890, according to FDOH data.

The cumulative number of COVID-19 cases in Okaloosa is 20,896.

The FDOH reports the total number of people killed by COVID-19 in Okaloosa is 367, no change since the previous report.

OKALOOSA COUNTY VACCINATION INFORMATION

Statewide, 1,234 new cases were reported by the FDOH since the last state report. The current cumulative total is 2,327,989. The total number of Florida residents who have died from COVID-19 in the state is 36,924.

The cumulative number of hospitalizations in Okaloosa is 762, four more since the previous report. Currently, there are 10 COVID-19 patients in Okaloosa County hospitals.

According to the FDOH, since the previous report, there were 187 test results returned in Okaloosa with 7 positives. The daily positivity rate is 3.74 percent.

Florida’s current weekly positivity rate is 4.1 percent  (7-day moving average) according to Johns Hopkins University Coronavirus Resource Center data.
