SANTA ROSA BEACH, Fla. – The Florida Department of Transportation is conducting a hybrid public meeting on February 24 to address improvements to the intersection at US Highway 98 and US Highway 331 in Santa Rosa Beach in Walton County.
This hybrid meeting is being held both virtually and in person to provide interested persons an opportunity to express their views concerning the proposed improvements.
It is scheduled to be held from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
According to the FDOT, the intent of this project is to provide intersection, operational, and safety improvements on U.S. 98 at the U.S. 331 intersection.
No additional right-of-way is needed. Bids for construction are scheduled to occur in summer 2024.

Maps, drawings, and other information are available for review online beginning at 12 p.m. (CDT) Thursday, Feb. 24 at www.nwflroads.com/virtualmeetings.
FDOT representatives are available to discuss the proposed improvements, answer questions, and receive comments. The deadline to submit official comments related to this public meeting is Monday, Mar. 7, 2022.
The existing lanes on U.S. 331 will be resurfaced with landscaping in the median to remain.
The existing U-turn median opening on U.S. 98 approximately ¼ mile east of U.S. 331 will be closed. No additional right-of-way is needed.
Bids for construction are scheduled to occur in the summer of 2024.
Those who are unable to participate virtually may attend the meeting in person at the South Walton Courthouse Annex, 31 Coastal Centre Boulevard, Santa Rosa Beach.
