NAPLES, Fla. – Agents with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) have arrested a Naples man for possession of child sexual abuse material, the FDLE has announced.
FDLE agents arrested Chandler Christian Jones, 26, of Naples, last week on 10 counts of possession of child sexual abuse material, the FDLE said.
According to the FDLE’s report, charges against Jones were enhanced from third-degree to second-degree felony charges due to the number of images and the sexual battery of children depicted in those images.
The investigation into Jones was initiated by a National Center for Missing and Endangered Children (NCMEC) cybertip from the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) South Task Force, the FDLE said.
According to the FDLE, a court-ordered arrest warrant was issued for Jones on August 8 and Jones turned himself in at the Collier County Jail on August 9. Agents made the arrest after forensic examinations of Jones’ cellular smartphone allegedly uncovered images and videos of children involved in sex acts.
Jones was booked into the Collier County Jail on a $100,000 bond. The case will be prosecuted by Attorney General Ashley Moody’s Office of Statewide Prosecution.
