Here is this week’s traffic advisory for Walton County:

— U.S. 98 Resurfacing from east of U.S. 331 to Peach Creek
Drivers may experience nighttime intermittent U.S. 98 east and westbound lane closures Sunday, Sept. 17 through Thursday, Sept. 21, from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. These closures are required for paving operations and for crews to place sod.

Widening work continues on Mack Bayou Road near the U.S. 98 intersection. Crews are adding an additional southbound left-turn lane on Mack Bayou Road for drivers to access U.S. 98 eastbound. This photo shows crews placing new asphalt along the east side of Mack Bayou Road. Once paving is complete, crews will place new pavement markings to indicate that this portion of the roadway is the new location for the northbound Mack Bayou Road travel lane. Upon completion, this section of Mack Bayou Road will have one northbound travel lane, two southbound left-turn lanes to access U.S. 98 eastbound, and one southbound right-turn lane to access U.S. 98 westbound.
