FDOT weekly traffic advisory for state roads in Okaloosa County, Feb. 4-10

OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. — Drivers in Okaloosa County may encounter traffic disruptions on the following state roads this week as crews perform construction and maintenance activities, according to the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT).

Here is this week’s FDOT traffic advisory for state roads in Okaloosa County:

— Brooks Bridge Replacement Project
Drivers may experience traffic disruptions Sunday, Feb. 4 through Thursday, Feb. 8, between 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. for utility work and construction activities in the following locations:

  • U.S. 98 east and westbound alternating and intermittent lane closures between Ferry Road and Pier Road
  • Santa Rosa Boulevard east and westbound alternating lane closures from east of Amberjack Drive to Ross Marler Park

— Mid-Bay Bridge Rehabilitation Project
Drivers may encounter intermittent southbound lane closures on the Mid-Bay Bridge, Sunday, Feb. 4 through Thursday, Feb. 8, from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. for construction activities.

— Mary Esther Boulevard (State Road 393) Resurfacing from U.S. 98 to Beal Parkway (State Road 189)
Drivers may encounter intermittent north and southbound lane closures on Mary Esther Boulevard for paving operations, median construction, and to lower manholes at the following locations and times:

  • Sunday, Feb. 4 through Thursday, Feb. 8, from U.S. 98 to Hollywood Boulevard, between 7 p.m. and 5:30 a.m.
  • Sunday, Feb. 4 through Saturday, Feb. 10, from Hollywood Boulevard to Beal Parkway, between 7 p.m. and 5:30 a.m.

— State Road 85 Resurfacing from north of Commerce Drive to Bill Lundy Road
Drivers may experience intermittent north and southbound State Road 85 single-lane closures for milling and paving operations. Lane closures may occur:

  • Between Airport Road and Butler Road, Monday, Feb. 5 through Friday, Feb. 9, from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Between Commerce Drive and Butler Road, Sunday, Feb. 4 through Thursday, Feb. 8, from 8 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.
  • Between Butler Road and Bill Lundy Road, Sunday, Feb. 4 through Saturday, Feb. 10, from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Construction is continuing on the new I-10/P.J. Adams interchange in Crestview (Future Exit 53). The new interchange will be signed “Exit 53″ and be located approximately 2.6 miles west of the State Road 85 exit and east of the existing Antioch Road overpass on I-10. The graphic above shows how the new lanes and ramps will look for I-10. Work on the $72.7 million I-10/P.J. Adams interchange will continue with an estimated completion timeframe of mid-2026. Please remember that the speed limit through the project limits is 60 mph.

— State Road 285 Resurfacing from State Road 20 to State Road 293
Drivers may experience intermittent State Road 285 north and southbound lane closures between John Sims Parkway (State Road 20) and State Road 293, Sunday, Feb. 4 through Thursday, Feb. 8, from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. for paving operations.

— U.S. 98 Resurfacing from Josie Road to Florida Place Southeast
Drivers may encounter intermittent U.S. 98 east and westbound lane closures from Sunday, Feb. 4, through Thursday, Feb. 8, between 8 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. for milling and paving operations.

— State Road 189 Intersection Improvements at Lewis Street and Pelham Road
Drivers may encounter intermittent lane closures near the following intersections, Sunday, Feb. 4 through Saturday, Feb. 10, between 7:30 p.m. and 7:30 a.m., for signalization work:

  • State Road 189 at Lewis Street
  • State Road 189 at Pelham Road

— U.S. 98 Routine Utility Maintenance West of East Casa Loma in Mary Ester
Drivers will encounter intermittent lane closures Monday, Feb. 5, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for routine utility maintenance.

— State Road 397 Routine Utility Maintenance from Edge Avenue to North Bayshore Drive in Niceville
Drivers will encounter intermittent lane closures Thursday, Feb. 8, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for routine utility maintenance.

All activities are weather-dependent and may be delayed or rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. Drivers are reminded to use caution, especially at night, when traveling through a work zone and to watch for construction workers and equipment entering and exiting the roadway.
