FDOT traffic disruptions this week in Okaloosa, Walton counties

OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has announced traffic disruptions this week on major state roads in Okaloosa and Walton counties as crews continue construction and maintenance projects.

OKALOOSA COUNTY

— Brooks Bridge Replacement Project:
Alternating lane closures on U.S. 98 between Ferry Road and Pier Road, and on Santa Rosa Boulevard from east of Amberjack Drive to Ross Marler Park, Sunday, Aug. 10 through Thursday, Aug. 14, from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. for construction activities.

— Interstate 10 Resurfacing from west of Yellow River to east of Shoal River:
Alternating lane closures between mile markers 50 and 60, Sunday, Aug. 10 through Thursday, Aug. 14, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for striping operations.

— U.S. 98 Resurfacing from Josie Road to Florida Place Southeast:
Intermittent lane closures between Josie Road in Mary Esther and Florida Place Southeast in Fort Walton Beach, Sunday, Aug. 10 through Thursday, Aug. 14, from 8 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. for signalization work, paving, and thermoplastic striping.

— State Road 85 Improvements from State Road 123 to Hospital Drive:
Southbound lane closures between Shoal River Bridge and State Road 123 from 4 p.m. to 4 a.m., and northbound lane closures between State Road 123 and Shoal River Bridge from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m., Sunday, Aug. 10 through Thursday, Aug. 14.

— State Road 85 Resurfacing and Safety Improvements from Hospital Drive to U.S. 90:
Intermittent lane closures, Sunday, Aug. 10 through Thursday, Aug. 14, from 7:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. for paving operations.

— State Road 20 Bridge Repair over Rocky Bayou:
Intermittent daytime and nighttime lane closures, Sunday, Aug. 10 through Friday, Aug. 15, for construction operations.

WALTON COUNTY

— U.S. 331 Resurfacing Project from south of I-10 to U.S. 90:
The northbound outside right-turn lane at the U.S. 90 intersection is temporarily closed. One northbound left-turn lane and one lane for both left- and right-turn movements remain open. On U.S. 90 westbound, the outside travel lane is temporarily closed between 11th Street and U.S. 331. One travel lane and one left-turn lane to U.S. 331 remain open.

— U.S. 98 Intersection Improvements at U.S. 331:
Intermittent lane closures Sunday, Aug. 10, through Thursday, Aug. 14, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for paving operations.

All activities are weather-dependent and may be delayed or rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. According to the FDOT, drivers are reminded to use caution, especially at night, when traveling through a work zone and to watch for construction workers and equipment.
