OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has announced upcoming lane closures and traffic impacts across Okaloosa and Walton counties as crews continue scheduled construction and maintenance work. In preparation for the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, no lane closures or traffic-impeding activities will take place on major state roads from 12 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26, through 11:59 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 30.
OKALOOSA COUNTY
— Brooks Bridge Replacement Project
- Santa Rosa Boulevard from U.S. 98 to Ross Marler Park
- U.S. 98 from Ferry Road to Pier Road
- Sunday, Nov. 23 through Tuesday, Nov. 25, and Monday, Dec. 1 through Thursday, Dec. 4, from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.
- Intermittent lane closures for construction activities. Signage and traffic flaggers will be in place
— I-10 Eastbound Rest Area and Truck Parking Improvements
- Mile marker 59
- Truck parking remains closed for 120 days and is scheduled to reopen in mid-February 2026. Passenger vehicle parking and facilities remain open
— U.S. 98 Resurfacing
- Santa Rosa County Line to west of Josie Road
- Monday, Dec. 1 through Thursday, Dec. 4, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- Intermittent lane closures for shoulder work
WALTON COUNTY
— U.S. 331 Resurfacing
- South of I-10 to U.S. 90
- Monday, Dec. 1 through Thursday, Dec. 4, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- Intermittent and alternating lane closures between Bruce Avenue and U.S. 90 for paving operations
- The U.S. 331 northbound middle-turn lane at U.S. 90 is temporarily closed. One northbound left-turn lane and one right-turn lane remain open
All activities are weather-dependent and may be delayed or rescheduled. FDOT urges drivers to use caution, especially at night and in work zones, and to watch for crews and equipment.
