Expect nighttime disruptions on U.S. 98, I-10, State Road 85 this week

OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. — Nighttime traffic disruptions are scheduled this week on several major routes across Okaloosa and Walton counties, according to the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT).

OKALOOSA COUNTY

— Brooks Bridge Replacement Project
Alternating lane disruptions on U.S. 98 between Ferry Road and Pier Road, and on Santa Rosa Boulevard from Amberjack Drive to Ross Marler Park, nightly June 8–12 from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. for utility and construction work.

— I-10 Resurfacing from Yellow River to Shoal River
Lane impacts between mile markers 50 and 60 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., June 8–12, for striping operations.

— U.S. 98 Resurfacing in Mary Esther to Fort Walton Beach
Night work between Josie Road and Florida Place Southeast from 8 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., June 8–12, for signal work and striping.

— State Road 85 Paving from Hospital Drive to U.S. 90
Nighttime paving June 8–12 from 7:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. with intermittent impacts expected.

— State Roa 85 Utility Work from 10th Avenue to Gardner Drive
Intermittent daytime disruptions from June 12 through June 26, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., for pole replacement.

— U.S. 98 Routine Maintenance in Mary Esther
Disruptions between Wright Parkway and Royal Palm Court from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., June 9–12.

— State Road 20 Tree Trimming in Niceville
Lane disruptions from Redwood Avenue to Edgewater Drive on Thursday, June 12, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

WALTON COUNTY

— U.S. 331 Resurfacing from South of I-10 to U.S. 90
Construction-related impacts the week of June 8 include:

  • U.S. 90 work between West Sloss Avenue and U.S. 331, June 8–12, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m
  • Eastbound traffic on U.S. 90 will shift slightly south
  • U.S. 331 northbound right-turn lane is temporarily closed at the U.S. 90 intersection; one turn lane remains open
  • U.S. 90 westbound outside lane is closed between 11th Street and U.S. 331; one travel lane and a left-turn lane remain open

All work is weather-dependent. FDOT urges drivers to use caution in work zones, especially at night, and to watch for crews and equipment near travel lanes.
