Eglin Federal Credit Union, which has a Niceville location in Bluewater Bay and serves Okaloosa, Walton and Santa Rosa counties, was ranked third among all credit unions in Florida in a customer satisfaction survey sponsored by Forbes.
According to the magazine, Forbes partnered with market research firm Statista to produce its first-ever look at the Best-In-State Banks and Credit Unions. Instead of gauging the balance sheets and P&L statements as Forbes does for its ranking of the 100 largest banks published annually in January, Statista surveyed more than 25,000 customers in the U.S. for their opinions on their current and former banking relationships.
The banks and credit unions were rated on overall recommendations and satisfaction, as well as five subdimensions (trust, terms and conditions, branch services, digital services and financial advice).
Eglin Federal Credit Union was among 145 credit unions across the nation earning a top ranking. The average score earned was 80; Eglin Federal scored 84.25.
The top score in Florida was 87.86 earned by USF Federal Credit Union which serves the Tampa area. Florida West Coast Credit Union, which also serves Tampa, scored 87.22.
Eglin Federal Credit union was founded in 1954 and has nearly 120,000 members.
