Eglin Federal Credit Union presents 5-Star Award to dedicated employee

FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. — Eglin Federal Credit Union (EFCU) has named Yvonne McCarter the recipient of its prestigious 5-Star Performer Award.

Ms. McCarter, who serves as card services representative II, is EFCU’s 5-Star Performer for the 4th Quarter of 2023. She has been employed with the credit union since December 2003 and currently resides in Fort Walton Beach.

The 5-Star Performer Award is a quarterly employee recognition program. The nominator provides a written submission describing how the employee embraces EFCU’s Five-Star Values: Respectful, Trustworthy, Dedicated, Proactive, and Engaged.

Nineteen account services representatives in the call center nominated Ms. McCarter.

In their nomination, the account service representatives said, “Yvonne demonstrates hard work and compassion for her coworkers and members. You can count on her to look at the situation from every angle, and she goes above and beyond to make sure the issue is resolved in a timely manner. She always finds a way to get things done, even in challenging circumstances.

“Yvonne is patient, professional and shares her knowledge by explaining everything she is doing to make sure the Reps understand what needs to done. She always has a positive and encouraging attitude, no matter what circumstance is presented to her. Yvonne supports her teammates in surrounding areas, by making their jobs easier and more efficient.”

Ms. McCarter’s long history with EFCU started in 2003 as a loan typist at the Eglin Branch. She was promoted to loan counselor at Eglin, then moved to special services representative in Fort Walton Beach. She joined the Mastercard department in 2012, and she has continued to earn promotions.

“As a member, I loved the credit union before I started working here,” said Ms. McCarter.

“I am very honored to be recognized by the call center team. They are truly wonderful to work with, and we help each other. I love my job and my coworkers in payment systems, and I enjoy being able to help our members.”

Dawn Oravetz, chief payments officer, noted, “In our department, we all know how pleasant, patient, and wonderful Yvonne is to work with and that she is an expert in her field. To have another department recognize her for this was outstanding.”
