Its goal is to have male volunteers spend at least one day this year at the school to be a positive male role model, to throw a ball at recess, help with car rider line, provide an extra set of eyes and ears around school and more.

Edge Elementary School has started a WATCH D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) program aimed at involving fathers and father-figures in their student’s life.

Deputy Jeff Moore, Edge’s School Resource Officer, and over 65 men (fathers, father-figures, granddads, uncles, step-dads and adult brothers) were in attendance for the first WATCH D.O.G.S. meeting at the school. Each is now ready to help out around the school wherever they are needed.

One of the slogans for Watchdogs is, “He’s not a good dad because he’s a Watchdog. He’s a Watchdog because he’s a good dad.”
