WCSO said a deputy conducted the stop on a vehicle driving north on U.S. 331 for a moving violation. The driver fled, turning onto State Line Road, where the deputy continued to follow.

According to WCSO, the suspect’s vehicle then came to an abrupt stop, causing the deputy to rear-end it.

The driver was identified as Drew Thames, 31, of Florala, Alabama. Mr Thames attempted to run but was taken into custody shortly afterward.
