Driver flees traffic stop, South Walton High put on high alert

The Walton County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) has established a perimeter north of Highway 98 between Old Blue Mountain Road and JD Miller Road after a suspect fled a traffic stop,

WALTON COUNTY, Fla. – The Walton County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) has established a perimeter north of Highway 98 between Old Blue Mountain Road and JD Miller Road after a suspect fled a traffic stop, according to a press release by the WCSO.

UPDATE: THE WCSO REPORTS THE SUSPECT NOW IS IN CUSTODY.

The suspect, Brian Borghette, 33, is described as a white male with red facial hair wearing a black hat and gray sweatshirt, according to the WCSO.

Walton Correctional and WCSO K9 Teams are in route.

South Walton High School is on high alert and they have limited movement to inside the school buildings only.

Residents can expect an increased law enforcement presence in the area along Chat Holley Road, JD Miller Road, and State Road 83 North.
