NICEVILLE, Fla. — The Florida Department of Health in Okaloosa County has issued a water quality advisory for three local recreation sites due to elevated bacteria levels.
The affected areas are Liza Jackson Park and Emerald Promenade in Fort Walton Beach and Rocky Bayou State Park in Niceville.

According to DOH-Okaloosa, water samples collected on Monday, June 9, showed levels of Enterococcus bacteria that exceed the recommended criteria for recreational use.
Health officials advise that swimming or wading at these locations could pose a health risk, especially for those with open wounds or weakened immune systems.
