Deputies responded to a home on North 1st Street just before 7 a.m. on October 8 after a caller reported a shooting. The WCSO said deputies found bullet damage to the caller’s vehicle and to a shed located about 20 feet away.

The WCSO said the shed was occupied by Travis Wayne Richards, 21, who immediately admitted to deputies that he had shot a gun three times the previous night after smoking marijuana with his friends.

Investigators said one person was inside the residence and at least two others were outside when Richards reportedly fired the weapon. The WCSO said the rounds exited the structure and struck the vehicle, causing property damage.
