COVID-19 dashboard: Only 6 new cases reported in Okaloosa schools

NICEVILLE, Fla. — The number of new COVID-19 cases among students and staff in Okaloosa County schools is continuing to decline. There were only six new cases reported in the latest reporting period by the Okaloosa County School District (OCSD).

This is the fifth consecutive week of cases decreasing among students and staff.

There were six new COVID-19 cases reported in the week ending February 25, down from 24  new cases during the previous seven-day period, according to the Okaloosa County School District’s COVID-19 dashboard. There were 117 new cases the week before.

Five weeks ago the OCSD reported 531 new cases.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, the overall positivity rate among students is 12.36 percent, according to the OCSD.

Elementary School Average – 12.03 %

Middle School Average – 12.94%

High School Average – 11.88%

Combination/Other – 13.76%
