Individuals and businesses are invited to participate in the Winter Cornhole Tournament to be held in Niceville on Saturday, Feb. 28, beginning at 12 noon at the Horseshoe Pits located at Twin Oaks Park. The event is sponsored by the Heritage Museum of Northwest Florida.

All ages and skill levels are welcome.  Local businesses are encouraged to enter teams and are welcome to promote themselves with banners and signs.

“It’s a great way to boost morale, have some fun and promote your business,” said Gina Marini, museum manager.

The tournament features two divisions, Masters and Beginners. There will be cash prizes for the first and second place winner in each division.

Participants and spectators will enjoy fun raffles, food and drink. Raffle prizes include cash, and a cornhole scorekeeper and cup holder. Food includes chili and chips.

The cost is $30 per team (two-person teams) or $20 per individual (individuals will be partnered with others to form two-person teams).

Sign-ups and warm-ups are from 11:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.

Cornhole, also known as Tailgate, bean bag toss, doghouse, or simply Bags, is a lawn game in which players take turns throwing bags of corn at a raised platform with a hole in the far end. A bag in the hole scores 3 points, while one on the platform scores 1 point. Play continues until a team or player reaches the score of 21.

Twin Oaks Park is located at the intersection of College Boulevard and State Road 85 North.

All proceeds benefit the Heritage Museum of Northwest Florida. Dress for the weather, bring your chairs, coolers, and join the fun!
