OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla.  — Officers with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) arrested two individuals suspected of hunting deer after dark with a light in Osceola County after allegedly finding cocaine in their vehicle last week.

The FWC said two officers were conducting routine patrols in the early morning last week when a pickup truck hauling an airboat was spotted meandering along a two-lane road. Its progress was notably sluggish under the illumination of a bright light that illuminated the woods and fields.

The truck reportedly stopped in the middle of the road and illuminated several deer off to the side of the road next to the woods.

This curious sight led the officers to conduct a traffic stop, resulting in a discovery that went beyond wildlife infractions—baggies containing a white powdery substance, suspected to be cocaine, were allegedly found strewn throughout the truck.

The substance allegedly field-tested positive for cocaine.

Officers also reportedly found various pills in both marked and unmarked containers within the truck.

The FWC further alleges that the driver operated the vehicle on a suspended license. Additionally, the passenger in the vehicle is alleged to be a convicted felon who was within reach of the firearms and ammunition found in the truck.

The driver and passenger of the vehicle were arrested and transported to the Osceola County Jail.
