Brooks Bridge shift, night closures across region

OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has announced drivers will encounter traffic disruptions across several state roads as construction and maintenance work continues this week.

OKALOOSA COUNTY

— Brooks Bridge Replacement Project
Santa Rosa Boulevard traffic will shift from just south of U.S. 98 to the roundabout north of U.S. 98 beginning the week of Feb. 8. The roundabout remains partially closed, and Marler Park is accessible from the northwest roundabout exit.

Intermittent lane closures are scheduled from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. Feb. 8 through Feb. 12 on Santa Rosa Boulevard from U.S. 98 to Ross Marler Park and on U.S. 98 from Ferry Road to Pier Road. FDOT said this temporary traffic pattern is expected to remain in place until mid-2026.

— State Road 85 Resurfacing Project from U.S. 98 to Richbourg Avenue
Alternating lane closures from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Feb. 9 through Feb. 12 for manhole and valve adjustments.

— Interstate 10 eastbound Rest Area and Truck Parking Improvement Project
Truck parking reopened near mile marker 60, with remaining construction scheduled through late 2026.

— Interstate 10 New Interchange at P.J. Adams Parkway
Antioch Road traffic shifted west between Garrett Pit Road and the Interstate 10 overpass beginning the week of Feb. 8 for paving operations.

— U.S. 98 Resurfacing from the Santa Rosa County line to west of Josie Road
Intermittent lane and shoulder closures from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Feb. 8 through Feb. 12 for median improvements.

— State Road 85 Improvements from State Road 123 to Hospital Drive
Intermittent lane closures between State Road 123 and Shoal River Bridge with northbound closures from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and southbound closures from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 9 through Feb. 13 for thermoplastic striping.

— State Road 85 Coring Operation from Bill Lundy Road to the Walton County line
Intermittent lane closures from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Feb. 9 through Feb. 12 for coring operations.

— U.S. 90 Routine Bridge Maintenance over the Yellow River
Intermittent eastbound lane closures west of State Road 85 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 10 for routine maintenance.

— U.S. 98 Sidewalk Operations from Beach Drive to Airport Road
Intermittent lane closures from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 9 through Feb. 13 for sidewalk construction.

— U.S. 90 Routine Operation east of Clint Mason Road
Intermittent lane closures from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 9 through Feb. 12 for installation of a paved entrance.

WALTON COUNTY

— Western Lake Bridge Replacement
Temporary County Road 30A traffic stoppages near Western Lake Bridge from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 8 through Feb. 14, delays expected to last less than 15 minutes with flagging operations directing traffic and pedestrians.

— Interstate 10 Routine Bridge Maintenance over State Road 285
Intermittent northbound lane closures east of the Walton County line from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 11 for routine bridge maintenance.

All activities are weather-dependent and may be delayed or rescheduled due to inclement weather. According to the FDOT, drivers should use caution when traveling through work zones, especially at night, and remain alert for construction workers and equipment entering and exiting the roadway.
