Representatives of the Mid-Bay Bridge Authority in consultation with its Traffic Engineering Consultant will host a Public Information Meeting on possible toll rate changes for use of the Mid-Bay Bridge and Spence Parkway on Thursday, October 27, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Northwest Florida State College-Student Services Center Room 132-133, in Niceville.

According to a press release by the Mid-Bay Bridge Authority, there will be no increase in toll rates, and options presented will address ways to reduce the toll burden on users while still collecting the required toll revenues to pay off municipal bond debt.

The meeting is meant to inform citizens of the reason for Toll Rate Study, review the options for a possible new toll rate schedule, and provide an opportunity for public participation. The meeting presentation will be available for public review on the Authority website. The Authority will take comments at the meetings, via its website at www.mid-bay.com or by e-mail to staff@mid-bay.com through the end of October 2016. The possible new toll rate schedule may be effective January 1, 2017.

A similar meeting was held in Destin on Oct. 25.
