April 30 COVID-19 cases update: Fourth Okaloosa death reported

NICEVILLE, Fla — The Florida Department of Health reports this morning a fourth COVID-19 death in Okaloosa County. The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases is 154, one new case since Wednesday morning. The number of confirmed cases in Niceville remains at 21.

NICEVILLE, Fla — The Florida Department of Health reports this morning a fourth COVID-19 death in Okaloosa County. The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the county is 154, one new case since Wednesday morning. The number of confirmed cases in Niceville remains at 21.

The number of hospitalizations in Okaloosa is 25, one more since yesterday.

The number of deaths in Okaloosa County has risen from three to four. The death is an 81-year-old woman who lived in Okaloosa County.  She died April 10, but it was just confirmed to be COVID-related. She reportedly had contact with a confirmed case. It was not travel-related.

To date, 2,612 tests reportedly have been performed in Okaloosa County.

Here’s the latest breakdown by city in Okaloosa (note that the city is not always reported as part of the initial notification and may be missing while the case is being investigated):

  • Fort Walton Beach, 60, no change
  • Destin, 28, no change
  • Niceville, 21, no change
  • Crestview, 17, one more case
  • Shalimar, 12, no change
  • Mary Esther, 6, one more case (formerly listed as missing)
  • Eglin AFB, 2, no change
  • Laurel Hill, 1, no change
