April 27 COVID-19, vaccination report for Okaloosa, Niceville

NICEVILLE, Fla — The Florida Department of Health on Tuesday reported 22 newly confirmed COVID-19 cases in Okaloosa County. There are three new cases in Niceville and Valparaiso.

The FDOH reports 316 vaccinations were administered in Okaloosa County the previous day. The cumulative number of people vaccinated in Okaloosa is 59,039. The number of people who have completed the vaccination series in Okaloosa is 41,786, according to FDOH data.

The cumulative number of COVID-19 cases in Okaloosa is 20,327.

The FDOH reports the total number of people killed by COVID-19 in Okaloosa is 361, one more death since the previous report.

Statewide, 5,271 new cases were reported by the FDOH. The current cumulative total is 2,217,368. The total number of Florida residents who have died from COVID-19 in the state is 34,958.

The cumulative number of hospitalizations in Okaloosa is 730, no change since the previous day. Currently, there are 15 COVID-19 patients in Okaloosa County hospitals.

According to the FDOH, since the previous report, there were 384 test results returned in Okaloosa with 22 positives. The daily positivity rate is 5.73 percent.

According to the FDOH, Okaloosa’s weekly positivity rate is 6.17 percent for the week ending April 25, down from 7.34 percent the previous week.

Florida’s current weekly positivity rate is 9.0 percent  (7-day moving average) according to Johns Hopkins University Coronavirus Resource Center data.
