April 21 COVID-19 cases update for Okaloosa, Niceville

The Florida Department of Health reports this morning the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Okaloosa County is 134, three more since Monday morning. The number of confirmed cases in Niceville remains at 18.

NICEVILLE, FLA — The Florida Department of Health reports this morning the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Okaloosa County is 134, three more since Monday morning. The number of confirmed cases in Niceville remains at 18.

The number of confirmed cases involving residents or staff at long-care nursing facilities is 25, one less over the past 24 hours. According to the FDOH, the only long-term care facility in Okaloosa to have confirmed COVID-19 cases is Fort Walton Rehabilitation Center. The Manor at Blue Water Bay was initially included on the state’s list but was removed yesterday. Reportedly, it was due to a false-positive test.

The number of hospitalizations in Okaloosa is 23, no change in the past 24 hours. The actual number of people currently hospitalized for COVID-19 in Okaloosa is seven, according to a report to county commissioners this morning.

The number of deaths in Okaloosa County remains at three.

To date, 1,727 tests have been performed in Okaloosa County.
