April 17 COVID-19 cases update for Niceville, Okaloosa

NICEVILLE, Fla — The Florida Department of Health reports this morning the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Okaloosa County is 119, five more since Thursday morning. The number of confirmed cases in Niceville remains at 18.

The number of hospitalizations in Okaloosa increased from 20 to 21 since Thursday morning.

Here’s the latest breakdown by city in Okaloosa (note that the city is not always reported as part of the initial notification and may be missing while the case is being investigated):

  • Fort Walton Beach, 44, three more since Thursday morning
  • Destin, 26, no change
  • Niceville, 18, no change
  • Crestview, 13, one more since Thursday morning
  • Shalimar, 9, no change
  • Mary Esther, 2, no change
  • Eglin AFB, 1, no change (also “Elgin” AFB in Okaloosa has 1 case)
