April 16 COVID-19 cases update for Niceville, Okaloosa

The Florida Department of Health reports this morning the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Okaloosa County is 114, nine more since Wednesday morning. The number of confirmed cases in Niceville increased by one to 18. The number of hospitalizations in Okaloosa increased from 17 to 20 since Wednesday morning.

NICEVILLE, Fla — The Florida Department of Health reports this morning the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Okaloosa County is 114, nine more since Wednesday morning. The number of confirmed cases in Niceville increased by one to 18.

The number of hospitalizations in Okaloosa increased from 17 to 20 since Wednesday morning.

Here’s the latest breakdown by city in Okaloosa (note that the city is not always reported as part of the initial notification and may be missing while the case is being investigated):

  • Fort Walton Beach, 41, four more since Wednesday morning
  • Destin, 26, two more since Wednesday morning
  • Niceville, 18, one more since Wednesday morning
  • Crestview, 12, two more since Wednesday morning
  • Shalimar, 9, no change
  • Mary Esther, 2, no change
  • Eglin AFB, 1, no change (also “Elgin” AFB in Okaloosa has 1 case)
