Okaloosa County School District raises critical funds during Change for Children campaign

NicevilleMay 29, 2014Updated:May 29, 20142 Mins Read

More than 20 schools from Okaloosa County participated in the annual Change for Children Campaign during the 2013-2014 year. The schools raised more than $23,000 in change to benefit the abused, neglected and abandoned children of our community.

Schools that participated used creative ways like holding a bake sale, to collect change at their school. Antioch Elementary School was the winner from the Okaloosa County School District and raised $3,683.79.  Ruckel Middle School was a close second raising $3,000.00.

Ken Hair, President & CEO of Children in Crisis, commented, “The Change for Children campaign is such a wonderful program within the Okaloosa County School  District!  I would like to thank everyone very much for their participation and wonderful support. The Change for Children program provides CIC with critical funds to help feed, clothe and care for our children at our Children’s Neighborhood. “

CIC is a 501, (c)(3) non-profit community charity of caring people providing homes and establishing hope to the abused, neglected and abandoned children of our community.  Together we can make a difference in the life of a child.  To learn more about CIC, visit www.childrenincrisisfl.org, or call 850-864-4242.
