Suicide prevention walk Nov. 5 in Niceville

The walk will be held at Niceville High School from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The event consists of an opening ceremony and short walk.

An Out of the Darkness suicide prevention walk is being held in Niceville on November 5. Individuals interested in donating or taking part can register or contribute online.

The walk will be held at Niceville High School from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The event consists of an opening ceremony and short walk.

The opening ceremony will be held on the NHS football field, and the walk will be made up of a couple of laps around the track, and the loop around Niceville High and Ruckel Middle School.

Its free to take part in the walk. Anyone can sign up in advance online or show up Nov. 5 at 3:30 p.m. to register.

All funds raised from the event come back to our community in the form of resources such as videos, pamphlets, and other educational materials.

 

The goal of the Niceville Walk is $20,000. To date, over $14,500 is pledged to walkers.

When you walk in the Out of the Darkness Walks, you join the effort with hundreds of thousands of people to raise awareness and funds that allow the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) to invest in new research, create educational programs, advocate for public policy, and support survivors of suicide loss.
