All donations are used for basic needs, activities, field trips, medications and daily life necessities. Most of the seniors served by the Pavilion have little or no income.

Twin Cities Pavilion, the non-profit congregate living facility for seniors located in Niceville, is seeking donations of needed goods and cash to help it continue to care for its residents and maintain its community outreach programs.

All donations are used for basic needs, activities, field trips, medications and daily life necessities. Most of the seniors served by the Pavilion have little or no income.

“Most of our residents don’t have family to help,” said Nikki Smith, the Pavilion’s activities director. “Our employees help out every chance we can but we depend greatly on donations from our community.”

Needs include such things as personal care items, bedding, towels, snacks, laundry soap, etc. A list of needed items can be found below.

It’s not unusual for our community to step up and help Twin Cities Pavilion carry out its mission of assisting seniors in need. Last month, Niceville Pack & Ship raised funds for a scale for Twin Cities Pavilion which allows residents to be weighed while seated in their wheelchair.

“The community came together,” said Kayla Muldoon, owner of Niceville Pack & Ship.

This past spring Niceville Young Professionals, a Niceville Valparaiso Chamber of Commerce committee, collected and contributed goods to residents of the Pavilion.

The efforts of the community make a difference.

Although Twin Cities Pavilion operates month-to-month on a very limited budget, with the help of our community, it participates five days a week with meals on wheels and various other community outreach programs.

“Our residents live on a very limited source of income and with our facility’s’ budget, this goal we are striving to meet, is unattainable without donors,” said Smith.

Twin Cities Pavilion, established in 1981, provides a safe living alternative for persons who are no longer secure living alone. Residents are encouraged to function at their highest level of personal ability. Assistance is provided in accordance with the state guidelines and personal needs. It is located at 1053 John Sims Parkway. The phone number is (850) 833-9212.
