Jen Knutson, UWF Graduate Student of Historical Archaeology will present “Black Drink,” a free lecture, Friday, October 14, 12:00 p.m. at the Heritage Museum of Northwest Florida.
Southeastern Indians would consume a tea-like caffeinated beverage called “Black Drink” made from the yaupon holly as a routine custom for religious and diplomatic purposes. Learn about early colonial perceptions of this practice as well as current archaeological investigations.
