Art exhibit at the Niceville Public Library

Niceville.comJune 15, 20162 Mins Read

Local Color Artists Club is exhibiting artwork at the Niceville Public Library from June through August 2016.  Seventeen artists of the Niceville based group are sharing their creations in a variety of mediums and topics from beginning to advanced levels.

The glass display case at the library features jewelry, miniatures and collections through July. Wall-sized pieces and table top works using mixed media, batik, oils, pastels, watercolors, acrylics, encaustics, charcoal and photography can also be viewed and enjoyed through August.

Local Color Artists Club was established in 1997 and draws members from Crestview to Destin, Santa Rosa Beach to Niceville and Freeport. They welcome anyone interested in art to join them. Club members pursue a variety of interests involving media from painting to stained glass to porcelain painting and crash glass to name a few, and range from beginners to advanced levels of expertise. Several of their members teach art classes.

They meet monthly for lunch and to talk about and share our love of all types of art. Their luncheon programs provide interesting speakers, demonstrations, sharing information about themselves and their art, other types of art they enjoy, enlightening critiques and solving art related problems.

Local Color Artists Club has in-house artist challenges several times a year with group selected themes.  Each member interprets his/her vision of a particular theme, creates an original piece of art and shares it with club members.

Interested people may contact  Amy Jo Rosati, 678-4813.
