Local non-profit organizations seeking food donations are being encouraged to register online to receive baked goods from Panera Bread in Niceville, which opens to the public next week.

“We want our community to know that we’re here to help,” said Tanya Sherlock, assistant manager at Panera Bread in Niceville.

At the end of each day, Panera Bread restaurants take part in Day-End Dough-Nation, packaging unsold bread and baked goods to donate to local hunger relief and charitable organizations. In addition to its Day-End Dough-Nation program, Panera Bread supports events held by non-profit organizations serving those in need by donating a certificate or fresh bakery products. Interested organizations can apply online.

“At Panera Bread, we believe we’re more than a restaurant; we’re a member of each and every community we serve. As a member of your community, it’s important to us that we do what we can to support you. We appreciate the opportunity to partner with your organization to help those in need,” reads a statement on Panera Bread’s Website.

To take part in the Day-End Dough-Nation, local non-profit organizations must be available to collect the baked goods nightly at the close of business at the Niceville Panera Bread.

Interested local non-profit organizations can apply online for the Day-End Dough-Nation program, or a certificate or baked goods donation, here: https://panerabread.versaic.com/login.

Panera Bread, located in front of Publix in Niceville, opens to the public March 15 at 6 a.m.
