FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. — Eglin Federal Credit Union has recognized a longtime employee for outstanding leadership, dedication, and service to members and fellow employees.

Jamie Cervantes, Card Services Supervisor and a Fort Walton Beach resident, has been named the credit union’s Five-Star Performer for the third quarter of 2026. She has worked for Eglin FCU for more than 17 years.
The Five-Star Performer Award is a quarterly employee recognition program honoring employees who demonstrate the credit union’s five core values: Respectful, Trustworthy, Dedicated, Proactive, and Engaged. Employees are nominated through written submissions describing how they exemplify those values.
Ms Cervantes received nominations from multiple coworkers who praised her leadership, positive attitude, strong work ethic and commitment to helping members and colleagues, according to Eglin FCU.

“Jamie is a one-of-a-kind supervisor,” said Card Services Manager Alicia Kennedy. “She leads by example, always willing to step in and help wherever needed. Jamie comes to work each day with a smile and a genuine enthusiasm for serving our members and supporting her team.”

Cervantes began her career with Eglin FCU in July 2009 as a part-time teller at the Fort Walton Beach Branch. Over the years, she advanced through several positions, including Mail Teller, EFT Representative, and multiple roles within Card Services.
In July 2022, she was promoted to Card Services Supervisor, where she now leads a team that assists members and supports fellow employees with card-related services.

Her coworkers describe her as a trusted resource and proactive problem-solver who provides guidance and encouragement while helping her team deliver timely, personalized service.
During a celebration recognizing her achievement, Ms Cervantes expressed appreciation for her coworkers and the opportunity to serve credit union members.
“I truly love Eglin FCU, our members, and my department. Helping people and solving problems is what drives me. Even after 17 years with the Credit Union, I still thrive on learning new things, and I give so much credit to my incredible team for their support.”
