The annual fireworks show is organized and funded by the Light Up the Bayou Fireworks Committee. According to the committee, the fireworks show will begin at 8:45 p.m. with fireworks launched from a floating platform in the middle of Boggy Bayou. The display will be visible from the shorelines of Niceville and Valparaiso.

Sound Associates will provide patriotic and family-friendly music beginning at 6 p.m., including the synchronized soundtrack accompanying the fireworks display. Speakers will be positioned on the fire dock at Lions Park to broadcast the music around the bayou.

Food vendors are said to be available at Lions Park in Niceville (940 Bayshore Drive) and at Lincoln Park in Valparaiso (1217 N. Bayshore Drive) beginning from 3 p.m.

The annual fireworks display is funded entirely through private donations. According to the Light Up the Bayou Fireworks Committee, no tax dollars are used to produce the event.

The Fireworks Trust Fund Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, raises money throughout the year to fund the Independence Day celebration.
