Girl Scouts get VIP tour of Niceville city hall, fire, police

NICEVILLE, Fla. — A group of local Girl Scouts recently got a firsthand look at how their city operates during a visit to Niceville City Hall and other public safety facilities.

Mayor Daniel Henkel welcomed Girl Scout Troop 748 for a behind-the-scenes tour, giving the girls an inside look at how local government works and how decisions are made at the city level.

The visit included time inside the council chambers, where the group learned about the role of elected officials and how meetings are conducted.

During their stop at the Niceville Police Department, officers answered questions and spoke with the scouts about their work in the community.

According to the Niceville Police Department, the visit included “many excellent questions” from the group as they learned more about law enforcement.

The tour also took the scouts to the Niceville Fire Department, where firefighters gave an overview of their daily responsibilities and equipment.

According to the Niceville Fire Department, crews “had a great time” hosting the group and sharing what they do to keep the community safe.
