The project included replacing aging fixtures and plumbing, with volunteers stepping in to help complete the improvements.

Members of the Mid-Bay Bridge Rotary Club recently gathered at the park to paint the restroom facilities, giving them a fresh look.

The renovation was funded in part through a Rotary district grant program, which matches funds raised locally by Rotary clubs with district support to help community projects move forward.

Club members reported that their group contributes more than $14,000 annually to the Rotary Foundation. A portion of those funds eventually returns to the district to help support projects like the Turkey Creek improvements.

The club raised its share of the funding through community events and fundraisers, including Oktoberfest and its annual golf tournament.
