OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has announced overnight and daytime traffic impacts across multiple state roads in Okaloosa and Walton counties as crews perform resurfacing, bridge work, and maintenance activities.
OKALOOSA COUNTY
— Brooks Bridge Replacement Project
Drivers will encounter a minor traffic shift on Santa Rosa Boulevard from just south of U.S. 98 to the roundabout north of U.S. 98. The roundabout remains under construction with a partial closure. The entrance to Marler Park is accessible from the northwest roundabout exit, and detour signage is in place.
Intermittent lane closures are planned from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 22, through Thursday, Feb. 26, on Santa Rosa Boulevard from U.S. 98 to Ross Marler Park and on U.S. 98 from Ferry Road to Pier Road. This temporary traffic pattern is expected to remain until mid-2026.
— State Road 85 Resurfacing from U.S. 98 to Richbourg Avenue
Drivers will encounter alternating lane closures from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 22, through Thursday, Feb. 26, for manhole and valve adjustments.
— U.S. 98 and State Road 293 Resurfacing Project
Intermittent lane closures are planned from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 22, through Thursday, Feb. 26, on U.S. 98 from Paraiso Boulevard to Regions Way and on State Road 293 (Danny Wuerffel Way) from U.S. 98 to the Mid-Bay Bridge for sidewalk repairs.
— U.S. 98 Resurfacing from Santa Rosa County Line to west of Josie Road
Shoulder closures are expected from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Feb. 23, through Friday, Feb. 27, for utility relocation and median improvements.
Lane and shoulder closures are also planned from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 22, through Thursday, Feb. 26, for median improvements.
— Interstate 10 Resurfacing from east of Shoal River Bridge to west of State Road 285
Alternating westbound daytime lane closures between mile markers 59 and 70 are scheduled from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, for paving operations.
— U.S. 98 Routine Maintenance on the Destin Bridge (William T. Marler Bridge)
Motorists may encounter intermittent lane closures from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 22, through Friday, March 6, for routine bridge maintenance.
WALTON COUNTY
— Western Lake Bridge Replacement
Drivers may encounter temporary traffic stoppages on County Road 30A near the Western Lake Bridge from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 22, through Saturday, Feb. 28. Delays are expected to last less than 15 minutes, with intermittent flagging to guide vehicles and pedestrians safely through the work zone.
All activities are weather-dependent and may be delayed or rescheduled due to inclement weather. FDOT urges drivers to use caution, especially at night, when traveling through work zones, and to watch for construction workers and equipment entering and exiting the roadway.
