Gate-to-Gate run returns to historic 4.4-mile course at Eglin

EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. — Eglin Air Force Base will celebrate the 40th anniversary of its Gate-to-Gate Memorial Run/Walk on May 16, with the event returning to its historic 4.4-mile course across the installation.

Registration is now open for the annual race, which traces its roots as a true gate-to-gate event spanning 4.4 miles across the base.

According to Eglin Air Force Base, the opening ceremony will begin at 6:45 a.m., followed by the start of the race at 7 a.m.

Participants may register as individuals or as part of a four-person team in male, female, or co-ed categories.

All non-War Department attendees and guests must be pre-registered to gain access to the base. Non-DoW family members and guests must be included during the registration process to complete a required security check.

Registration costs $50 through April 19. The fee increases to $60 from April 20 through April 30.

The deadline for non-DoW attendees to register is April 30. DoW attendees may register through race day, May 16, for $60.
