A Walton County Sheriff’s Office deputy located a vehicle driven by Alexa Marie Braud, 34, of Gretna, Louisiana, just after 2:40 p.m. at the intersection of State Highway 285 and U.S. Highway 90 in Mossy Head, according to the Walton County Sheriff’s Office.

The stop followed a “Be on the Lookout” alert issued agency-wide for Braud’s vehicle, the sheriff’s office said.

A Florida Highway Patrol trooper, multiple units from the U.S. Marshals Task Force, and Walton County Sheriff’s Office deputies conducted a felony stop at a nearby gas station, according to the sheriff’s office. Ms Braud was taken into custody without incident.

A search of the vehicle reportedly revealed a small cooler containing nearly $150,000 in cash and a firearm, the Walton County Sheriff’s Office said.

Ms Braud was transported to and booked into the Walton County Jail, where she is awaiting extradition to Louisiana to face felony theft charges, according to the sheriff’s office.
