OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has announced upcoming lane closures, traffic shifts, and delays on state roads in Okaloosa and Walton counties as crews continue scheduled construction and maintenance activities.

OKALOOSA COUNTY
— Brooks Bridge Replacement Project
Drivers may encounter intermittent nighttime lane closures from Sunday, Dec. 7, through Thursday, Dec. 11, between 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. Work zones include Santa Rosa Boulevard from U.S. 98 to Ross Marler Park, where signage and traffic flaggers will direct motorists, as well as U.S. 98 from Ferry Road to Pier Road.
— Interstate 10 Resurfacing from East of Shoal River Bridge to West of State Road 285
Alternating eastbound and westbound lane closures are expected Tuesday, Dec. 9, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. between mile markers 59 and 70 as crews perform guardrail repairs.
— I-10 Eastbound Rest Area and Truck Parking Improvements
Truck parking at the I-10 eastbound rest area at mile marker 59 remains temporarily closed for a 120-day period and is scheduled to reopen in mid-February 2026. Passenger-vehicle parking and rest-area facilities remain open.
— U.S. 98 Resurfacing from Santa Rosa County Line to West of Josie Road
Lane closures are planned Monday, Dec. 8, through Thursday, Dec. 11, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. while crews complete median improvements.

WALTON COUNTY
— Western Lake Bridge Replacement
County Road 30A drivers may encounter temporary traffic stoppages near the Western Lake Bridge on Thursday, Dec. 11, and Friday, Dec. 12, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Delays are expected to last less than 15 minutes, and one travel direction will remain open at all times.
— U.S. 331 Routine Bridge Maintenance over Choctawhatchee Bay
Intermittent northbound and southbound lane closures may occur on Thursday, Dec. 11, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. north of U.S. 98 as crews perform routine bridge maintenance.
All work is weather-dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. According to FDOT, drivers should use caution, especially at night, and watch for workers and equipment entering and exiting the roadway.
