DEFUNIAK SPRINGS, Fla. — A Texas fugitive wanted for child-sex crimes was arrested early Friday morning in DeFuniak Springs by the U.S. Marshals Task Force, the Walton County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) announced.
Members of the task force, including deputies from the WCSO, took Christopher Lynn Bowles, 42, into custody at a home on Coy Burgess Loop.
Investigators said Mr Bowles had nationwide extradition warrants issued by the Smith County Sheriff’s Office in Texas for sexual assault of a child and continuous sexual assault of a child under fourteen.
According to the WCSO, the investigation determined Mr Bowles was staying in DeFuniak Springs with his current girlfriend.
He was located at the residence and arrested without incident. Mr Bowles will be extradited to Texas to face his charges.
