OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has announced upcoming lane closures and construction activities on several state roads in Okaloosa and Walton counties from Sunday, November 2, through Saturday, November 8.
OKALOOSA COUNTY
— Brooks Bridge Replacement Project
Intermittent lane closures are scheduled from Sunday, November 2, through Thursday, November 6, between 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. on Santa Rosa Boulevard from U.S. 98 to Ross Marler Park, and on U.S. 98 from Ferry Road to Pier Road. Signage and traffic flaggers will guide drivers safely through the work zone.
— State Road 85 Improvements from State Road 123 to Hospital Drive
Drivers may encounter northbound and southbound lane closures from Sunday, November 2, through Thursday, November 6. Northbound closures from Shoal River Bridge to Interstate 10 will occur between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m., while southbound closures from Interstate 10 to Shoal River Bridge will take place between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m.
— Interstate 10 Eastbound Rest Area and Truck Parking Improvement Project
The truck parking area at the Interstate 10 eastbound rest area at mile marker 59 will remain closed through winter 2026. Passenger vehicle parking and rest area facilities will remain open.
— Interstate 10 at P.J. Adams Parkway Interchange
Eastbound drivers will encounter outside lane closures between mile markers 52 and 54 on Thursday, November 6, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for guardrail repairs.
— U.S. 98 Resurfacing from the Santa Rosa County line to west of Josie Road
Lane closures are scheduled from Sunday, November 2, through Thursday, November 6, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for shoulder work.
WALTON COUNTY
— U.S. 331 Resurfacing from south of Interstate 10 to U.S. 90
Construction will cause temporary lane adjustments from Sunday, November 2, through Saturday, November 8. The U.S. 331 northbound outside right-turn lane is closed at the U.S. 90 intersection, with alternate turn lanes available. On U.S. 90 westbound, the outside travel lane between 11th Street and U.S. 331 is closed, but one travel lane and one left-turn lane remain open.
— U.S. 98 Intersection Improvements at U.S. 331
Motorists may encounter intermittent lane closures from Sunday, November 2, through Thursday, November 6, between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. for paving operations.
All planned work is weather-dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. FDOT reminds drivers to use caution, especially at night, when traveling through work zones, and to be alert for workers and equipment entering or exiting the roadway.
