NICEVILLE, Fla. — The Okaloosa County School Board recently approved the appointment of Dr Delilah Lewis as Specialist, Math, Curriculum and Instruction.
Dr Lewis brings 36 years of experience in education across Florida and Georgia and is said to be known for her leadership in curriculum development and teacher support. The board approved her appointment on August 25, 2025.
A graduate of Baker School, Dr. Lewis holds multiple degrees, including a bachelor’s in Elementary Education, a master’s in educational leadership, and a Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in Instructional Technology from the University of West Florida. She also earned a master’s in Early Childhood Education from the State University of West Georgia.
Over her career, Dr Lewis has led district-wide professional development, mentored early-career teachers, and helped design curriculum aligned with state mathematics standards. According to the district, she has been recognized for innovative classroom practices that foster student growth and confidence.
She is married to Clyde Lewis, also an Okaloosa Schools graduate. Together they enjoy boating, fishing, gardening, and time with Callie, their British Labrador puppy.
