Rocky Bayou Bridge work among lane closures in Okaloosa County

OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has announced lane closures and traffic disruptions across Okaloosa and Walton counties for the week of Sunday, August 24, through Thursday, August 28.

OKALOOSA COUNTY

— Brooks Bridge Replacement Project
Nighttime closures of Santa Rosa Boulevard just north of the U.S. 98 intersection are scheduled Sunday through Thursday, from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. Crews will pour the deck for the new westbound bridge structure. Drivers will be detoured via the roadway west of the Destin-Fort Walton Beach Convention Center to access Santa Rosa Boulevard north of the closure. Access to adjacent properties and businesses will remain open.

— U.S. 98 lane closures
Alternating lane closures on U.S. 98 from Ferry Road to Pier Road, and on Santa Rosa Boulevard from east of Amberjack Drive to Ross Marler Park, are planned for construction activities.

— Interstate 10 resurfacing
Alternating lane closures between mile markers 50 and 60, Monday, Aug. 25, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for striping operations.

— I-10 at P.J. Adams Parkway Interchange
Alternating lane closures between Crab Apple Avenue and Antioch Road, Sunday, Aug. 24, from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Crews will install a drainage pipe beneath the roadway. Law enforcement officers and flaggers will direct drivers through the work zone.

— U.S. 98 resurfacing
Intermittent lane closures between Josie Road in Mary Esther and Florida Place Southeast in Fort Walton Beach, Sunday through Thursday, from 8 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. for signalization work, paving, and thermoplastic striping.

— State Road 85 improvements
Single-lane closures Sunday through Thursday. Southbound between Shoal River Bridge and State Road 123 from 4 p.m. to 4 a.m., and northbound between State Road 123 and Shoal River Bridge from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m.

— State Road 85 resurfacing and safety improvements
Intermittent lane closures between Hospital Drive and U.S. 90, Sunday through Thursday, from 7:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. for paving operations.

— State Road 20 Bridge Repair over Rocky Bayou
Intermittent nighttime lane closures are scheduled Sunday through Thursday, from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., for construction work.

WALTON COUNTY

— U.S. 331 resurfacing
Northbound right-turn lane closed at the U.S. 90 intersection. One northbound left-turn lane and one shared left- and right-turn lane remain open. The westbound outside lane of U.S. 90 between 11th Street and U.S. 331 is also closed, with one westbound travel lane and one left-turn lane open.

— U.S. 98 at U.S. 331 intersection improvements
Intermittent nighttime lane closures Sunday through Thursday, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., for paving operations.
