Drivers to see nighttime detours, lane closures July 13–17

OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has announced multiple overnight lane closures and detours on major roadways in Okaloosa and Walton counties from Sunday, July 13, through Thursday, July 17.

OKALOOSA COUNTY

— Brooks Bridge Replacement Project
Santa Rosa Boulevard will close nightly north of the U.S. 98 intersection as crews place beams for the new westbound bridge structure. Closures will occur between 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m., with drivers detoured via the road west of the Destin-Fort Walton Beach Convention Center. Access to nearby properties and businesses will be maintained. Alternating lane closures are also planned on U.S. 98 from Ferry Road to Pier Road and Santa Rosa Boulevard from Amberjack Drive to Ross Marler Park for construction and utility work.

— Interstate 10 Resurfacing from west of Yellow River to east of Shoal River
Alternating lane closures are scheduled between mile markers 50 and 60 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for striping operations.

— U.S. 98 Resurfacing from Josie Road to Florida Place Southeast
Intermittent lane closures will occur nightly from 8 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. for signalization and thermoplastic striping between Mary Esther and Fort Walton Beach.

— State Road 85 Improvements from State Road 123 to Hospital Drive
Drivers can expect outside lane closures between Southcrest Drive and Walmart Road/Mirage Avenue from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for paving.

— State Road 85 Resurfacing and Safety Improvements from Hospital Drive to U.S. 90
Lane closures between 7:30 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. are planned for resurfacing work.

WALTON COUNTY

— U.S. 331 Resurfacing from south of I-10 to U.S. 90
The northbound right-turn lane at the U.S. 90 intersection is closed. One northbound left-turn lane and a shared turn lane remain open. On U.S. 90 westbound, the outside lane is closed between 11th Street and U.S. 331; one westbound travel lane and a left-turn lane remain open.

— U.S. 98 Intersection Improvements at U.S. 331
Intermittent lane closures are scheduled between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. for paving.

All scheduled activities are weather-dependent. FDOT urges drivers to use caution, especially at night, and to watch for workers and equipment in active construction zones.
