Joshean Del Valle Figueroa is charged with lewd and lascivious battery involving a victim between the ages of 12 and 16 and offenses against students by authority. The incident is said to have occurred in September 2024 at Mr Del Valle Figueroa’s residence on Happy Trails Road in Crestview.
According to the OCSO, the investigation began in late February 2025 after a parent reported the incident to Crestview High School administrators. The school notified the Florida Department of Children and Families, the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office, and the Okaloosa County School District Human Resources Department.
Investigators allege that Mr Del Valle Figueroa used manipulation tactics and a progression of behaviors to engage in a sexual act with the victim.
“The safety and well-being of our youth is paramount, and we will hold anyone in a position of authority fully accountable for violating that trust,” said Sheriff Eric Aden.

The school district confirmed that Mr Del Valle Figueroa was serving in a limited substitute role at the time of the report and had no direct contact with students in that capacity. The district said it immediately revoked his substitute and volunteer privileges and is cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
“The safety and well-being of our students is our highest priority,” said Superintendent Marcus Chambers.
“We maintain a zero-tolerance stance toward any behavior that could endanger the health or safety of our students. When this allegation came to the District’s attention, swift action was taken to ensure student safety while the matter is investigated.”
The investigation is ongoing.
