Field of Valor- Niceville, Fla

Exchange Club of Niceville is hosting the second annual “Field of Valor” at the City of Niceville Mullet Festival grounds on September 11 through September 19, 2015. Opening day ceremony is Sept 12 (Saturday) at 10 a.m.

Field of Valor is open from 12 noon to 8:00 p.m. everyday.  Two exceptions to that are: Saturday, September 12, it will open early for the Opening Ceremony at 10:00 a.m.  The last day, Saturday, September 19, it will be open from 12 noon to 2:00 pm.

The Field of Valor pays tribute to all fallen heroes (since 9/11/01) from the State of Florida, who served in Iraq and Afghanistan and paid the ultimate price in our continued war on terrorism.

Speakers for the Opening Ceremony are Senator Don Gaetz, Col. Robert Kirila, Army 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne), and retired Maj. Gen. Robert Chedister.

The 348 large American flags, posted atop 8 ft. poles, are displayed in perfect rows and columns in the grassy field at the north end of the Mullet Festival grounds. Each flag bears the name of the serviceman or woman who gave their life in the current conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq.

The flags are arranged alphabetically by last name. Attendees and visitors will be able to pay their respects and honor these heroes from the State of Florida.

The Mullet Festival grounds is located at State Road 85 North and College Blvd.
