The price of crossing the Mid-Bay Bridge will increase for many motorists beginning October 1, 2015. The cost of using the connector road, Spence Parkway, also will increase for many users.

Members of the Mid-Bay Bridge Authority voted to increase tolls at its meeting on August 20. Under the new payment schedule, motorists who pay cash to cross the bridge, and motorists with SunPass who cross the bridge fewer than 40 times per month, will pay $1 more than they do now for each one-way trip. Cash-paying customers will pay $4 per one-way trip, while SunPass users who cross the bridge fewer than 40 times per month will pay $3.

SunPass users who make 40 or more trips per month across the bridge will see no increase in the bridge toll. They will pay $2 per crossing. The discounted price will come in the form of a rebate at the end of each month. The total number of trips will be based on a user’s total SunPass account, which may include more than one SunPass transponder.

The connector road tolls for some motorists will increase by 50 cents beginning October 1.  The tolls for toll-by-plate users will increase from $1.50 to $2, while the toll for SunPass users who make fewer than 40 trips per month on the connector will increase from $1 to $1.50.

Motorists with SunPass who use the connector road 40 times or more per month will see no increase. They will pay $1 per trip.
