CRESTVIEW, Fla. — A free seminar aimed at helping North Florida residents successfully grow fruit at home will be offered on Thursday, January 30, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at the UF/IFAS Extension Office in Crestview.
Presented by Larry Williams, Extension Horticulture Agent with the Okaloosa County Cooperative Extension Service, the two-hour seminar, titled Home Fruit Gardening 101, will cover essential topics such as selecting fruit varieties suited for the region, care requirements, and considerations for planting and maintaining fruit trees.
“Not every fruit tree will grow and reliably produce fruit in our area,” said Mr Williams.
“Weather is the most important factor determining where certain fruits can be grown. This seminar will help answer key questions for anyone looking to grow fruit successfully in North Florida.”
The session will take place at the Extension Office, located at 3098 Airport Road, Crestview. Space is limited, and registration is required.
