NICEVILLE, Fla. — The City of Niceville is hosting its first-ever Veterans Day Parade on Saturday, November 9, beginning at 10 a.m.
This inaugural event will celebrate Niceville’s sizeable veteran population, and community members are invited to attend and show their support.
According to the City of Niceville, the parade follows the same route as the annual Rotary Club Christmas Parade. It begins at the intersection of John Sims Parkway and Palm Boulevard, then turns onto Partin Drive, passing Ruckel Middle School.
Parade-goers are encouraged to gather in designated areas where candy will be thrown (see the parade route map above). Be sure to position yourself within these marked zones to enjoy the treats safely, the city said.
Road closures and lane shifts will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, impacting motorists traveling on John Sims Parkway and Partin Drive. Detours will be marked, with regular traffic expected to resume by 12 p.m. (see below)
